Andrew Dale,
founder of UNITE, was born in London and began his apprenticeship
at age 16 with Vidal Sassoon. He became a stylist at 18, and
was soon doing session work with Vidal at age 20. Soon after,
he was asked to relocate to the U.S., working for a short period
in New York then moving on to Vidal Sassoon’s world-renowned
salon on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, where his clients consisted
of Sting, Faye Dunaway, Carol Burnett, Rue McClanahan, Elvira,
and Vanessa Redgrave. In addition, Dale taught on the Sassoon
Artistic Team both on platform and at its Academy in Santa
Monica. Dale continued on to open his own salon in Los Angeles,
while concurrently doing special projects for Redken such as
teaching classes and working on the company’s first “Shades
EQ” video and the “Shine” Design video. Subsequently,
Dale recognized the growing business potential of the greater
San Diego area where he eventually opened three full-service
salons. After
working for Redken, Dale teamed up with Hikari as Artistic

videos, product
critique and technical training for the U.S. and Canadian distributors.
While working for Hikari, Dale was approached by the founder
and owner of Fudge, who offered him a position as a product
consultant, which eventually led to Dale creating an artistic
team to launch the product with distributors in America. While
working with Fudge, Dale was flown to Australia to create an
educational video and produce new looks for the ad campaign
in America. After taking a short time out of the educational
arena, Dale created UNITE Eurotherapy. “The
exciting hair and fashion influences of cosmopolitan Europe
merged with American technical expertise and technology is
our inspiration behind UNITE,” says Dale. “UNITE
is a fusion that combines the knowledge of what’s happening
out of London, New York, and Amsterdam – the
trends and shape of things to come
– with the precise science needed for uncompromising quality.” According
to the stylist, UNITE is a dream he has had for a long time that has now become
a reality. |
